A Message from NFSI PTSO Presidents

The Read-A-Thon starts tomorrow!! As we kick off reading nightly at home using reading logs that came home this week, we are also kicking off fundraising. Enjoy some reading time with your child and support the PTSO.

This year we are approaching the Read-A-Thon as one community together. We will have one website, with one goal to raise $25,000 this fall. If we reach this goal, elementary students will get an unforgettable all school meeting in November where they will learn more about two indigenous cultures in honor of National Native American Heritage Month.

The funds you donate to the Read-a-Thon enable the PTSO to support the classroom requests from teachers and other enrichment activity requests. The funding you provide also makes the LA program possible. It helps teachers get additional supplies needed for their classrooms instead of using their own money. We will be sharing more over the next 3 weeks about all of the ways the PTSO supports the K-12 NFSI program.

Upcoming PTSO Events

Family Movie Night this Friday, October 11!

Hang out with your kids and enjoy the free movie Migration. This is a family movie night so an adult is required. Concessions are for sale including popcorn from Woodbury 10 Theatre. The proceeds from concessions pay for expenses to host the evening. Movie will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Siblings are also welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

It may not feel like winter outside today but winter is coming. Winter greens are a great way to add some color to our homes on the outside and flowers on the inside. There are many options available. Students are encouraged to sell to family and friends outside of the SI community. Students can earn 30% from plant and green sales and 15% from plant card sales. All community orders will be split evenly among all students participating in this fundraiser. You are responsible for picking up your order (if you order through a SI Spain 2026 student, they are responsible for delivering your order to you).

Butter Braids are back!

WHS SI Spain 2026 is selling Butter Braids. Enjoy a delicious hand-braided butter braid pastry filled with a choice of 7 different flavors. Plus, gooey cinnamon rolls and caramel rolls. Each yummy pastry costs $15. You can store them in your freezer then take one out the night before and prep following the directions on the package. The next morning, pop into a preheated oven to bake and enjoy a tasty treat.

There will be more rides needed this year. Keep an eye out for the ride requests sent by the LA Ride Coordinator this year and if everyone signs up for a few, we can help the LAs have a wonderful experience while they are here this year.
